FIRE STATION 5 PUBLIC ART PROJECT

SAN FRANCISCO, Completion 2018

Bernadette Jiyong Frank‘s proposed art, FLOW, spans the entire glass curtain wall of the fire station suggesting the transient nature of time from past to present. The work offers a reflection on space and time while expressing a positive outlook on the future. Translucent layers with alternating hues of green and blue gently overlap horizontally and create abstract, geometric patterns of light. The design intends to be timeless and alludes to the San Francisco Bay with a water surface in constant motion.
